Why CF Fitness
"Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity."
- John F. Kennedy
Program Benefits & Impact
Our program emphasizes skill development in specific sports and playground games, as well as the sports performance and core components of being an athlete - coordination, footwork, strength, speed and agility using STEAM concepts.
Our schools and families consistently report that joining CF Fitness directly impacts their children's performance in the classroom.
A Healthy Body Equals a Healthy Mind.
CF Fitness is focused on developing leadership skills through our C.I.T. program, – by learning to work as a team, conflict resolution tactics and participating in healthy competition, we are building our next generation of leaders.
Schools consistently report that since implementing CF Fitness their school has seen a dramatic decrease in bullying and trips to the nurse’s office. Why? The children are learning inclusive games and concepts such as teamwork, spatial awareness, and sportsmanship. This has increased their Social, Emotional Learning during play time.
Our programs span across all of Southern California, serving public, private, and charter schools as well as families from all neighborhoods and backgrounds. We are rooted in our communities and partner with some of the city’s most recognizable sports-based organizations to deliver our programs.
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports
One of the foremost advances in school-wide discipline is the emphasis on school-wide systems of support that include proactive strategies for defining, teaching, and supporting appropriate student behaviors to create positive school environments. Instead of using a piecemeal approach of individual behavioral management plans, a continuum of positive behavior support for all students within a school is implemented in areas including the classroom and non-classroom settings (such as hallways, buses, and restrooms).
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture and needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional and academic success. Attention is focused on creating and sustaining primary (school-wide), secondary (classroom), and tertiary (individual) systems of support that improve lifestyle results (personal, health, social, family, work, recreation) for all youth by making targeted misbehavior less effective, efficient, and relevant, and desired behavior more functional.
